Daan Utsav is the festival of Giving in India celebrated from 2nd Oct (Gandhi Jayanti) to 8th Oct every year. It is a people’s movement that is primarily driven by NGOs, corporates and highly motivated citizens who mobilise resources and connect interested individuals to contribute their time, skills, money and resources.

Thousands of NGOs, corporate organisations and individuals participate in this week-long festival. People across all age groups and strata participate in this giving festival and spread kindness. Celebrities from various facets like Cricket and Bollywood have also supported the Joy of Giving week in past.
On the corporate front, thousands of businesses celebrate and encourage giving. It is also a great way of employee sensitisation and to drive employee engagement in CSR programmes as the employees are exposed to a number of causes varying from Education, to Women Empowerment, to Health and a lot more.
By getting involved, Companies inspire their employees and customers to be a force for good and reinforce a tone of giving among them. If you delve deeper, the culture is set by the employees who actively participate in Daan Utsav programs and donate to NGOs either by way of funds or in-kind like books, toys, stationary, etc. or through their time by volunteering.
The spirit of Philanthropy is high in our country. We have seen employees come forward without any delay on instances such as Flood relief drives where they donate clothes, ration supplies and other essentials. In short we are a giving nation, and this attribute must be nurtured. Daan Utsav is the perfect time to involve family and friends in this noble initiative.
For Corporate organizations, Daan Utsav can also provide the perfect opportunity to highlight all the amazing things their employees do to support social causes through Payroll Giving and Volunteer programs.
Empowering employees to make regular contributions to charity through their pay is a simple way to give a significant boost to the organisation’s CSR efforts.

Not only this, Corporates can use the campaign to
Launch a new CSR programme supporting a new cause;
Onboard a new NGO partner;
Engage your Global offices too or
Adopt a new way of giving like Payroll Giving.
There are multiple ways companies are working towards social causes. This Daan Utsav let’s reach out to the most needy families in whichever way possible and help them come out of their troubles caused due to the pandemic.
